Budweiser Targeting a too Young Audience

"I won't tell if you won't"

As cute as this advertisement may be, I think it's kind of disturbing what Budweiser is doing here. The use of animals catches the attention of a young audience. What Budweiser is concerned with is getting their brand name imprinted in the heads of children so later on when they think of beer they automatically think Budweiser. The commercial tries to display typical American values through the heartwarming work of the two bigger horses.

  1. Call me crazy, but look: here's an ad featuring a young horse sneaking off to try out an adult-horse activity, reaching beyond what's appropriate for his age. Does this seem to anyone else to be a sort of metaphor for underage drinking? I wouldn't want to push it too far, but I think Becky's right that the ad already grabs kids' attention on a primal level, and the message of the ad is that it's cute and normal for kids to try adult things.
